Description
The understated Seal Lounge Chair by Ib Kofod-Larsen combines organic design with exceptional comfort. Well-proportioned with a sculptural silhouette, it was initially designed for the Swedish furniture company Olof Persons Fåtöljindustri in the mid-50s, which invited Kofod-Larsen to produce a chair that would become a commercial success.
Originally named Sälen after the Swedish ski resort, the Seal is considered one of Kofod-Larsen’s most well-known designs. Displaying an angled frame, an inviting seat and a lightness that confutes its stability, the timeless lounge chair demonstrates the designer’s strength in understanding the potential of wood and raw materials.
The chair is available with a low or high back.
