Description
Hay’s Revolt chair is a re-release of a seat designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend in the 1950s. Over the years, the Revolt chair has become one of Kramer’s best-known works, and it is an excellent example of the designer’s minimalist style.
The gist of the Revolt chair lies in its metal frame, which, a bit unusually, is not made of a metal tube but of a thin, angled steel plate. The unique construction of the frame guarantees not only a distinctive appearance, but also an ergonomic and comfortable sitting position – the backrest tilts slightly when you sit on the chair. In Hay’s re-launched version, the seat and backrest are made of a mix of virgin and recycled ABS plastic. Due to its simple and versatile design, the Revolt chair is just as at home around a dining table as it is in an office or meeting room.
