Description

Designed by Naoto Fukasawa, the Log Stool and Bench is made from laminated oak veneer. The hollow inside of the stool or bench gives it a stunning light expression.

Use it in the hallway or bedroom for a sculptural seating solution. Laminated oak veneer.

Log stool and benches have support feet in black stained solid wood.

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1956, Naoto Fukasawa established NAOTO FUKASAWA DESIGN in 2003. His designs are known for their ability to access and communicate the true essence of an object. Currently, he designs for a wide range of leading brands worldwide, as well as consulting and designing for local Japanese companies; He also sits on the design advisory board of Muji and is the art director of Maruni. His designs span a wide variety of fields, from precision electronic equipment to furniture and interior spaces. Fukasawa is the curator of The Japan Folk Crafts Museum, professor in the Integrated Design Department at Tama Art University, and one of the directors of 21_21 Design Sight. He has been accorded the title of Royal Designer for Industry (Royal Society of Arts) and has been a recipient of the Isamu Noguchi Award. For HAY, he has designed the Pao Lamp Collection and Miz Water Bott

Swedese

Swedese is a classic Swedish furniture producer with a strong presence in both the commercial and domestic domain. Swedese's ideals are the same today as they have been for the past seventy years. These are to create beautiful furniture for the future, which build on the foundations of Scandinavian modern traditions, designed by forward-looking designers who share in the timeless ideals of architecture. Swedese was founded in 1945 by the two brothers Yngve and Jerker Ekström and Sven Bertil Sjöqvist, with Yngve leading the company until his death. The most well known design of Yngve Ekström extensive portfolio is the Lamino chair from 1956, which is still manufactured today and sold all over the world.
