IRIS coffee table, Marble Top Ø55 x H43 cm

Brand : Asplund

Designer : Daniel Lavonius Jarefeldt

Iris is a round, large coffee table designed by Daniel Lavonius Jarefeldt for the ASPLUND Collection 2023. The table top in beautiful stone together with the wooden stand creates many combinations that fit in several different environments. The shapes are clean with a soft elegance and the details are well worked.

The base, which is oil-waxed, has softly rounded corners where part of the leg goes up and embraces the table top. The aesthetics are inviting and generous with a high sense of materiality where the structure of the wood is highlighted. The inspiration comes from Japanese wood joining techniques and Swedish craftsmanship. Iris is equally beautiful on its own or in a group and fits both at home and in public environments.

Asplund is a Swedish design company who sees furniture as objects of art. Asplund was founded in 1990 by Michael Asplund, originally an art dealer, and his brother Thomas Asplund, a former banker. Their contrasting backgrounds brought fresh attitude and ideas to the Swedish design scene. Besides design and production, the brothers run the Stockholm-based Asplund Gallery, which has become a lively arena for contemporary Swedish design. Besides Swedish designers, Asplund has collaborated with various international designers including Tom Dixon, Jasper Morrison and Marc Newson. Despite its innovative and international approach, Asplund also believes in traditions and the quality of local production; the majority of its collections are still manufactured in Sweden.
