“The Cover Bar Stool is born from a desire to bring modern perspectives to the archetypal wooden chair. I wanted to give the design a crisp and contemporary expression through its thin plywood material, paired with the solid and grounded sentiment of its frame and base in solid wood.

Size: h106cm, seat height 75cm,  w50cm x d58cm.

Colours: Oak-Black-Stained Dark brown, plus available with seat cushion in fabric or leathers.

Oak and Stained version: Form-pressed oak veneer shell. Solid oak legs. All parts with water-based lacquer. Coloured version: Form- pressed ash veneer shell. Solid oak legs. All parts with water-based lacquer. Available with textile and leather upholstery as made-to-order options.

Option for steel footrest extra €35.00 and Felt Glides €18 per stool.

Thomas Bentzen's work ranges from tableware to interior design, from furniture to industrial design. His passion is to create objects that engage and create curiosity, which are functional and simple and meet the human need while in use - and simply create joy. He claims to be obsessed with materials and their limits, by form and functionality and by the durability of design. Before setting up his own design office in spring 2010 he worked five years for Danish designer Louise Campbell where he became a partner in 2008. He is co-founder of the Copenhagen-based design collective REMOVE and have exhibited his work at various international exhibitions and furniture fairs. Thomas Bentzen is a board-member at the Danish Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition also known as SE and occasionally teaches at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen.


Rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition Muuto represents the New Nordic Design movement with an honest expression, enduring aesthetics and respect for craftmanship and functionality. These characteristics have been embedded into the entire Muuto collection comprised of furniture, lighting and accessories. Including individual products such as Muuto chairs, sofas and tables. By expanding this heritage with forward looking materials, techniques and bold creative thinking, their ambition is to deliver a new perspective on Scandinavian design. The name Muuto comes from the Finnish word muutos, meaning new perspective. They handpick leading contemporary designers who are strong interpreters of their philosophy and then combine their talent and skills with the passionate Muuto creative team.
