“The Couple Coffee Table was born out of my research into a traditional and essential piece of furniture — the coffee table. I wanted to come up with a new yet subtle take on its typical materials and typology. I was inspired by the materiality of fired earth like brick and terracotta, finding that a beautiful synergy occurs when it is combined with wood. I have always been drawn to texture and wanted Couple’s design to have an inherently tactile character produced by the grainy feel of the tile’s surface. The design allows you to choose between or combine tiles with a smooth surface or a soft wavy look.”
Materials & finishes
Tabletop tiles made in ceramic stoneware treated with a stone sealer, available in various colourways. The frame is made in solid oak treated with either clear or dark oil, made using FSC™️ certified wood.
TILE COMBINATIONS Choose your preferred tabletop surface—with a fully plain surface or with a mix of Plain and Wavy tiles.
Size: H35cm, W: 84.5 x D120cm. Comes in 3 sizes.
Tabletop: For general maintenance: Clean the table with a damp cloth, using only mild (not concentrated) detergents or washing up liquids. Always dry with a cloth after cleaning. To avoid the risk of permanent stains and marks, liquid, grease, etc., these should be removed immediately. It is highly recommended to re-apply stone sealer 1-2 times a year on the tabletop surface in order to upkeep its stain-protection. Stone sealer can be purchased in your local hardware store*.
Frame: We recommend applying special oak wood oil on the frame when necessary. For solid oak we recommend using an oil with a small amount of white pigment. For dark oiled oak we recommend using a smoked tabletop oil*. Never place the table up in the immediate distance of a heat source. *
Note Please note that there is a maximum of one Wavy tile per table on the 120x84x35 cm and 80x84x40 cm variant.
