Description

The Bourgie table lamp – A new edition of a classic: the baroque lamp Bourgie was designed by Ferruccion Laviani for Kartell in 2004. The revolutionary improvement of this lamp is that it is produced completely of transparent or solid-coloured polycarbonate. On the one hand we have class, luxury, and tradition. On the other hand we have innovation, transparency, and a certain touch of boldness. The base of the Bourgie Table Lamp is kept in the style of the baroque era and is made up of three decorated elements building a cross-form. The lamp shade is pleated and creates beautiful light reflexes when the light is turned on. It can be hung on the stem in

Ferruccio Laviani is an Italian designer born in 1960. After completing a degree in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1986, he worked at the Studio De Lucchi where he undertook projects for a diverse range of well-respected brands including Abet Laminati, Memphis and Polaroid. Since 1991, Laviani has worked closely with Kartell and now designs exclusively for them, alongside some other world renowned designers including Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola and Phillipe Starck. Some of his earliest designs he produced for Kartell such as the iconic Fly Pendant Light and the Bourgie Table Lamp are still best selling items worldwide, showing the timeless appeal and quality of this designer's work.
