Description

Arcs Shades are part of a series of arched designs created for HAY by Belgian duo Muller Van Severen.
Formed from a continuous chain of curved arches that form a single element, the Arcs Shade creates a spatial volume that plays with light and shape.

The shade can be used as a table lamp or pendant lamp suspended from the ceiling, both options forming contrasts in depth, colour and shape, resulting in an elegant scalloped silhouette.

Crafted in steel, Arcs is available in several different colours or with a mirror surface.
The cord sets for the shades are sold separately and are available in two designs – a table/floor variant with an in-line on/off rocker switch, and a pendant variant for ceiling lamps.
The cord sets are not supplied with a bulb, and cost €35.00 for either set
Material: Wet sprayed Steel.

Size: w20 x d20, h30cm. Bulb not included. Not Dimmable.

Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. The couple has always been on an inspired quest for sculpturally interesting furniture objects, and their work sits somewhere between design and art, drawing on their passion for architecture and materials. They have won countless awards and collaborated with prestigious museums worldwide (such as Vitra Museum, Centre Pompidou and Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris) and international galleries (Galerie Kreo, Side Gallery, Valerie Traan Gallery).
For HAY, Muller van Severen has designed the Two-Colour Table, the Arcs Lamp Shades and the Arcs Candleholder and Vase.

Hay

HAY was founded in 2002. This marked the beginnings of the international ambition that HAY has pursued over the past decade: creating durable quality furniture at affordable prices to allow as many people as possible to enjoy excellent design. HAY looks back with pride at the age of Danish Modern, where quality, craftsmanship and humanistic design put Denmark on the global map, and they look with excitement to the future as they explore the current possibilities inherent in new technologies, new materials and new ways of living with furniture. At the heart of everything that HAY does is the notion that contemporary design should spring from a good idea, innovative technology and quality materials in combination with joyful, straightforward and uncomplicated aesthetics.
