Description

The HAY Copenhague CPH 10 table is part of the Copenhague furniture collection designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The table is equally suitable for use as a dining table or desk, and has a velvety smooth linoleum top – the porous material has a pleasant feel to it and is prone to developing a patina over time.

In 2021, HAY renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. Please note that due to this, natural wood furniture now comes with only one lacquer option instead of the previous two: the new water-based lacquer is glossier than the matte lacquer previously used, but slightly more matte than HAY’s previous clear lacquer.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, born 1971 and 1976, respectively, in Quimper, France, studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Cergy-Pontoise. Ronan began independent design work immediately after completing his studies, while his brother, who was still in school, assisted him. Since 1999 both brothers have worked together as joint partners in their own design firm. Their work ranges from small utilitarian objects to architectural projects. In addition to the design of domestic and office furniture, vases, jewellery and diverse home accessories, a primary focus of their work is the design and organisation of interior space.

Hay

HAY was founded in 2002. This marked the beginnings of the international ambition that HAY has pursued over the past decade: creating durable quality furniture at affordable prices to allow as many people as possible to enjoy excellent design. HAY looks back with pride at the age of Danish Modern, where quality, craftsmanship and humanistic design put Denmark on the global map, and they look with excitement to the future as they explore the current possibilities inherent in new technologies, new materials and new ways of living with furniture. At the heart of everything that HAY does is the notion that contemporary design should spring from a good idea, innovative technology and quality materials in combination with joyful, straightforward and uncomplicated aesthetics.
